The SRA hires Blake Morgan to provide legal services to its legal and enforcement team.

Blake Morgan, a prominent UK law firm, has been chosen by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to offer legal advice to the significant legal regulator.

Blake Morgan, along with Capsticks, will lead the investigation and represent SRA at Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal proceedings. The function is aimed at assisting the SRA, which is responsible for regulating over 160,000 solicitors and other approved professionals.

The SRA conducted a rigorous and exhaustive procurement process, which led to the selection of Blake Morgan and Capsticks. Both companies will undertake the new contracts starting November 1, 2023, for a three-year period.

Leading the effort at Blake Morgan will be regulatory partners James Danks, Clare Strickland, and Delme Griffiths.

James Danks, Partner at Blake Morgan, expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “We are greatly looking forward to beginning our work with the SRA, supporting its all-important regulation of the profession and maintaining the sector’s high standards. Alongside the talented team at Capsticks, we are excited to take on the new challenges this appointment will bring, and reflecting Blake Morgan’s leading regulatory service offer.”

Juliet Oliver, Deputy Chief Executive, General Counsel and Executive Director, Investigations and Supervision said: “We are pleased to appoint Capsticks and Blake Morgan after a rigorous and competitive process. We were focused on making sure those we appointed had the right expertise, would be able to provide work consistently to the expected, high standard, while also offering excellent value for money.”
