ADVANT Beiten has advised eleven private radio broadcasters on the establishment of the first state-wide FM private radio station in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

The advice provided by the cross-practice group team headed by lead partner Dr. Holger Weimann included the preparation, negotiation and conclusion of the partnership agreements, the preparation of the application for the license of the program and frequency allocation as well as the clarification of antitrust law with the German Federal Cartel Office.

Eleven founding shareholders are involved in the project, including Antenne NRW, radio NRW, ffn and ROCK ANTENNE. The State Media Authority NRW has approved the application of the newly founded NRW Audio GmbH & Co. KG for the statewide full-service radio program and the corresponding application for allocation of the available FM frequency chain. The program is scheduled for launch in summer 2022. It will be unique in NRW with its orientation as a statewide private full program for young adults and will cover a broad range of topics from the areas of information, education, advice and entertainment.
