In Spain, Garrigues has received two awards for firm of the year: one each for indirect tax and tax disputes. These honors were presented as part of the EMEA Tax Awards, which were hosted yesterday in London and were attended by the most illustrious European firms and tax attorneys, by the newspaper International Tax Review (ITR), which covers tax news from businesses throughout the world.

Within the company, Garrigues’ Tax Department occupies a key position. With a presence in 18 locations and experts in 20 specialties, it contributes more than 30% of the firm’s total billings and has the largest team of tax experts in Spain. Due to its leadership, it is frequently able to provide advice on the biggest market transactions as well as on contentious legal cases before Spanish and European courts that are establishing precedents for taxpayers.
