LARK is advising the US-based distilled spirits company Sazerac on its planned public takeover of Germany-listed Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft. According to the firm’s announcement of 22 September 2026, Sazerac and Berentzen have concluded a business combination agreement under which Sazerac will make a voluntary public takeover offer for all shares of Berentzen Group.
The Berentzen Group is a beverage company positioned in the segments of spirits, non-alcoholic beverages and fresh juice systems. Its brands include Berentzen, Puschkin, Mio Mio and Citrocasa, and the group is present in more than 60 countries. Sazerac was founded in 1850 and, according to LARK, is one of the world’s largest distilled spirits companies, with more than 525 brands in its portfolio. It operates distilleries in several countries, among them Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky, Domaine Sazerac de Segonzac in Cognac, Paul John Distillery in Goa and Hawk’s Rock Distillery in County Sligo.
