Aderhold, a German law firm with offices in Düsseldorf and other major cities, has strengthened its restructuring practice with the appointment of Christian Kuhn as a new partner in early March 2026. Kuhn brings more than 15 years of corporate legal experience gained primarily in the energy sector, where he held senior positions at RWE, the major German energy company based in Essen.

During his tenure at RWE, Kuhn served in various positions within the legal department since 2009, most recently leading the legal department of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia and serving as a board member of RWE Pensionsfonds AG. His experience includes high-profile corporate transactions, including the spin-off and IPO of Innogy and a major asset swap between RWE and E.ON. Kuhn’s practice focuses on advising clients in difficult corporate situations and complex troubled transactions.
At Aderhold, Kuhn will counsel clients navigating restructuring matters, distressed transactions, and complex corporate situations. His appointment expands the firm’s capabilities in the restructuring sector and reflects the growing demand for specialized expertise in corporate distress scenarios and energy sector legal matters. The addition of Kuhn’s experience in large-scale corporate transactions and regulatory frameworks within the energy industry strengthens Aderhold’s market position in complex restructuring and transaction advisory work.
