Bugnion was recognised in the IAM Patent 1000 2026, the annual guide to the leading patent professionals and firms published by IAM. The Italian intellectual property firm secured a listing among the recommended firms for patent prosecution, one of the core categories assessed by the guide’s researchers.

The IAM Patent 1000 ranks firms and individuals on the basis of market feedback gathered through interviews with peers and clients. A placement in the patent prosecution category reflects the firm’s activity in the drafting and filing of patent applications and in shepherding them through examination before the relevant patent offices. For a firm of European agents such as Bugnion, this covers work before both the Italian Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.
Chambers and Co. since 2004.
Three of the firm’s practitioners were named individually in the 2026 edition. Cristina Biggi was listed as a recommended individual with a focus on chemistry and life sciences, an area where prosecution work frequently intersects with pharmaceutical and biotechnology portfolios. Marco Conti and Simona Inchingalo were each recognised as recommended individuals, extending the firm’s presence in the guide beyond a single practitioner and across more than one technical field.
The IAM Patent 1000 is one of several directories that assess the patent market on a country-by-country basis, alongside comparable guides covering contentious and transactional work. Its findings are used by in-house counsel and referral sources as one reference point when selecting external advisers. Bugnion’s inclusion places the firm among those identified by the guide as active participants in the Italian patent prosecution market for 2026.
