Hackstein Reuter partner Dr. Bastian Reuter has advised ORTHOPÄDIE + VITAL ZENTRUM PIRO GmbH in connection with its takeover by the Eqwal Group, the firm announced on 13 October 2026. Dr. Reuter provided the regulatory advice on the transaction.
The company, based in Villingen-Schwenningen with a further branch in Donaueschingen, offers a broad range of orthopaedic care solutions, including prosthetics, orthoses, medical aids and orthopaedic shoes.

With the acquisition, the Eqwal Group is further expanding its presence in the German market. According to the firm, Markus Piro will continue to manage the company as managing director after the takeover.
Hackstein Reuter Rechtsanwälte, based in Dortmund, focuses on medical and healthcare law, including aids and homecare, medical devices and hospitals.
