Paul, Weiss Adds Leading Latin America M&A Partner in New York

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP has announced the addition of Maria-Leticia Ossa Daza as a partner in their Mergers & Acquisitions practice, based in New York. Ossa Daza will also lead the firm’s newly established Latin America Practice Group.

Paul, Weiss Chairman Brad S. Karp expressed enthusiasm about Ossa Daza joining the team, noting that her expertise will significantly strengthen the firm’s capability to serve both local and international clients involved in Latin America. He highlighted her reputation as a top M&A advisor in the region.

Scott A. Barshay, head of the Corporate Department at Paul, Weiss, praised Ossa Daza’s extensive experience and strong connections within the Latin American market. He pointed out her involvement in numerous high-profile deals across the region and expressed excitement about her joining the firm.

Ossa Daza has an impressive track record of representing Latin American companies in a variety of cross-border and domestic transactions. She has also advised companies in the financial services, technology, infrastructure, and consumer goods sectors on their investments in Latin America. Some of her notable recent transactions include advising Expofaro on the sale of assets to Levi Strauss Colombia S.A.S., Ferrara Candy Company on acquiring Dori Alimentos, Zurich Insurance Group on several deals including the sale of an annuity portfolio in Chile, Odinsa S.A. on a partnership with Macquarie Asset Management, and América Móvil on the sale of TracFone Wireless to Verizon.

Her achievements have earned her recognition from several organizations, including Latinvex, Crain’s New York Business, and The Legal 500. She has also been honored with the Women Together Award by the International Committee of Women Together and named a “Latina Trailblazer” by LatinoJustice.

Ossa Daza holds a J.D. from Sciences Po Paris, a Master’s degree in Law from Sciences Po Paris/Sorbonne University, and an LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law.
