Burr & Forman announced on October 26, 2026 that Associate Eli Sharp has joined its Intellectual Property practice group.
Sharp is a USPTO-admitted patent attorney who has drafted and prosecuted more than 100 patent applications. These cover artificial intelligence, machine learning, electrical, semiconductor, telecommunications, software and hardware, and mechanical technologies. He has also represented multinational technology companies in federal court patent litigation and complex trade secret matters.
Chambers and Co. since 2004.
His practice also includes IP due diligence, freedom-to-operate and validity analyses, license agreements and trademark counseling. He earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
