According to the firm, the team will continue to advise clients from GSR’s existing office at the Arkadenhof in Innsbruck, and the team is to be expanded. Clients in Tyrol gain access to more than 70 fwp lawyers and the firm’s international network. Seekirchner said the move allows the team to handle particularly complex and cross-border mandates from Innsbruck.

GSR’s previous focus areas, corporate and company law, real estate law and public law, will be complemented by fwp teams in 13 core areas of business law. These include banking and finance, corporate and M&A, restructuring and insolvency, employment, data protection, antitrust and compliance, planning, environmental and procurement law, as well as litigation and arbitration. Grüner pointed to the region’s mid-sized companies and long-established family businesses, which expect personal advice from lawyers familiar with local conditions.

fwp states that it has been active on mandates with a Tyrolean connection for years, most recently on the refinancing in connection with the sale of Kaufhaus Tyrol GmbH. With fwp Tirol, the firm now establishes a permanent presence in western Austria. Founding partner Markus Fellner said the firm has valued the expertise and regional ties of Seekirchner and Grüner for many years.
