ABG Intellectual Property Recognized in IAM Patent 1000 2026

ABG Intellectual Property was recognized in the IAM Patent 1000 2026. The Spanish firm was ranked in the gold tier for patent prosecution and in the bronze tier for patent litigation. The IAM Patent 1000 is an annual guide published by Intellectual Asset Management that identifies leading patent firms and practitioners across more than 40 jurisdictions. Firms are assessed through independent market research and grouped into gold, silver and bronze tiers within separate practice categories, so that prosecution and litigation work are ranked independently of one another.

The distinction between the two categories reflects different areas of patent practice. Patent prosecution covers the drafting and filing of applications and the securing and maintenance of patent rights before national and regional offices, including the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office. Patent litigation concerns the enforcement and defence of those rights in contentious proceedings. A gold-tier placement for prosecution and a bronze-tier placement for litigation indicate that the guide regards the firm’s prosecution practice as among the strongest in the Spanish market while also recognizing its contentious capabilities.

In addition to the firm rankings, IAM Patent 1000 2026 recognized eight ABG Intellectual Property professionals as recommended individuals: Agustín Alconada, Juan Arias, Pablo Calvo, Enric Carbonell, Almudena Fernández, Iain A. McGeoch, Laura Montoya and Fernando Prieto. Individual recommendations in the IAM Patent 1000 are made separately from firm rankings and identify practitioners regarded by the market as leaders in their field. These individual listings are distinct from the firm’s gold-tier ranking for prosecution and bronze-tier ranking for litigation.
